Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) is a specialised public university dedicated to aviation and aerospace education in Bangladesh. It was established in 2019 with the objective of developing skilled professionals for the country’s rapidly growing aviation sector. The university operates under the supervision of the Bangladesh Air Force and aims to support the national vision of becoming a regional aviation hub.
AAUB’s permanent campus is being developed in Lalmonirhat district, a historically significant location for aviation activities in Bangladesh. Academic activities initially began at a temporary campus in Dhaka before shifting gradually towards its permanent facilities. The campus is designed to include modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, simulation facilities, research centres, residential halls and administrative buildings tailored to aviation and aerospace studies.
The university offers undergraduate programmes in specialised disciplines such as Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aviation Management and related technical fields. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical and technical training to meet international aviation standards. AAUB plans to expand its academic scope in the future to include postgraduate programmes and research initiatives in aerospace technology and aviation safety.
The student intake is relatively limited compared to traditional public universities, ensuring focused training and quality education. Admission is competitive and based on academic merit, particularly in science subjects.
